2 Goals
My first goal for this year in Chemistry is to create better study habit skills for this class especially. If I apply myself I know I can increase my grade by a lot and I proved that by last trimesters final exam. I really sat down and focused and studied hard and my hard work paid off. If I can continue do so and create better work habits then my grade should increase. My second goal is that I want to do a better job of applying what I learn in class into what I do outside of class. Instead of going to class and almost forgetting everything that I learned that day.

E-Portfolio/ Self reflection
The Atom Timeline Project
This exhibit was a good fit for my portfolio because it was by far the hardest assignment that my teacher had assigned in the first trimester. This project took concentration and hard work to complete, I added this exhibit in my portfolio because I felt like the end result of my hard work on the toughest assignment yet had paid off. There was a lot to accomplish and if my partner and I were not on the same page then the assignment would have been a disaster.
1. Why is this exhibit a good choice for placement in your e-portfolio?
This exhibit was a good fit for my portfolio because it was by far the hardest assignment that my teacher had assigned in the first trimester. This project took concentration and hard work to complete, I added this exhibit in my portfolio because I felt like the end result of my hard work on the toughest assignment yet had paid off. There was a lot to accomplish and if my partner and I were not on the same page then the assignment would have been a disaster.
2. What did you find most interesting about this exhibit activity and why?
The most interesting thing about this exhibit was that I guessed that I knew all that I needed to ever know about the atom (which was nothing). Instead I learned some stuff that I surprisingly wont forget, especially the Rutherford model. Just facts and experiments like that, I will always remember those kind of experiments from my own interest and from constant repetition, like the timeline project.
3. In what way(s) did you find this exhibit a challenge to complete?
This project was one of the most time consuming projects that I have ever had to complete. This was a frustrating project because there was so much information to be covered and my partner and I didn't give ourselves the most appropriate amount of time to complete this assignment. The most frustrating part about this assignment was that since there was so much information, it would of made my life a lot easier to copy and paste my answers off of wikipedia, but of course I couldn't.
4. If you were to do this activity again what changes would you make and why?
First off I would of tried to begin the assignment the day it was assigned, because trying to complete this long project two days before the deadline was not a great idea. There was to much information to be covered and two days wasn't nearly enough time to get a full understanding of the necessary information for the timeline.
5. What change(s) in attitude or behavior helped you to meet the challenge?
My partner and I actually really began to focus when we sat down to work and we got a good portion of the project done in very little time. I wouldn't say that there was something behavioral wise that my partner or I needed really change rather than managing or time a lot better, but just in the beginning. The face that we waited until later to finish, thankfully didn't hurt our grade that much but It didn't help.
6. What grade would you give yourself for these reflections, from “1” to “4”, where “4” is the best? (Refer to the E-Portfolio Reflection Rubric.)Give specific evidence explaining why you gave yourself that grade.
I would give myself a 3, it's not that I feel that I didn't fully complete these reflections or do a good job, it's more that I waited until the last day to complete this. Other wise I feel like I was as honest as I could be and that I did a good job, if I didn't feel guilty about waiting to do these reflections until the last day, I would have given myself a 4.https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui=2&ik=13b09a06de&view=att&th=12b65d4d89918469&attid=0.1&disp=vah&realattid=f_geqhotqc0&zw

If I was an element what would it be like?
If I were an element I would most likely be a noble gas and I would be placed in a brand new section and I would be such a rare element that I would be the only element in my section. I would be placed in the lone 6D section. I would want to be a noble gas because the noble gases have very high energy levels the
unfortunate part about being a noble gas and being placed in the lowest section is that I would be a very small element. My name would most likely be Superdooper, my short name that would be shown on the periodic table would be Sd. My atomic number and mass would replace Francium's, which would cause that whole row to shift down one place. Being a noble gas would cause me to have 8 valence electrons which happens to be my favorite number. I would be found in warm climate places such as forests etc. and I would also be a natural element but I would be very rare. Since I'm not Extremely useful neither would my element.

What am I learning about myself as a student in chemistry?
Personally I'm learning that I actually enjoy a subject at school. School for me is boring and agonizing but chemistry strikes me as something interesting that I don't mind learning about. Chemistry is a subject that is worth learning about because it is something you might actually need to use later in life and chemistry will actually help you understand the world around you (if you care). Chemistry is helping me learn that there is more to school than just attending and taking tests and doing homework, chemistry is making me realize the importance of school.
